Why Adding Hyaluronic Acid To Skincare Routine Is Important?!

*Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post.

If all you have to go on is its name, hyaluronic acid does not sound much like something you would want to put on your skin.  It sounds more like something a mad scientist would possess in a cartoon.  It is true that hyaluronic acid is very powerful.  You would not want to apply pure hyaluronic acid directly to your skin.  You only need a little bit of hyaluronic acid for a hyaluronic acid serum to be an effective skin care product.

Hyaluronic Acid

What does hyaluronic acid do when you apply it to your skin?

In short, hyaluronic acid is a moisturizer.  It is one of the most potent moisturizers that can be used in skin care products sold over the counter.  It can absorb as much as 1,000 times its weight in water.  For this reason, a serum with just one percent hyaluronic acid can keep your skin moisturized all day long.

Moisturizers are important because dry skin is one of the most common complaints that people have about their skin.  Using a serum with hyaluronic acid can prevent your skin from looking flaky or dull.  Because it is such a strong moisturizer, you can just use a few drops of serum per day.

Is hyaluronic acid beneficial to people with oily skin?

If your skin tends to get oily, some skin care products can make it worse.  The ingredient you want to stay away from is vitamin E.  Topical vitamin E can exacerbate oily skin.  Hyaluronic acid, however, is not a problem if you have oily skin.  For example, you can use a serum with hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 or vitamin C.  As long as you stay away from vitamin E, you will be fine.

Hyaluronic acid is one of the best ways to moisturize your skin.
